Terms of use

What is sello.

sello. is a curated editorial guide to Punta del Este and surrounding areas. We publish articles and recommendations about places, events, and activities in the area. We are not an official directory, a review aggregator, or a booking platform.

How we generate content

Our editorial content is built from public information: reviews published on business profiles, data available on open platforms, public menus and offerings. This information is processed and rewritten with our own editorial criteria. We don't personally visit every place.

The value of sello. lies in how we analyze, filter, and present that information. The editorial criteria, the seal system, and the voice are ours. The source data is public.

We use artificial intelligence tools to assist in the analysis and writing of content. Everything goes through an editorial filter before publication.

About included places

Places featured on sello. are included because they meet our editorial criteria based on public information. We don't charge for inclusion or exclusion. If you are the owner or representative of a business and want it removed from the guide, write to hola@sello.uy and we'll process it.

Places change: prices, hours, menus, service quality. sello. does not guarantee that information is up to date at all times. If a place closes, changes ownership, or modifies its offering, the listing may remain outdated until we review it.

Your account and your data

If you create an account on sello., you can stamp places (record that you visited them) and save places you're interested in. That data is yours. You can ask us to delete it at any time by writing to hola@sello.uy.

Content ownership

The texts, designs, and seal system are the property of sello. Photographs of places come from public sources or are provided by the establishments themselves. Editorial content may not be reproduced or republished without written authorization. If you want to share an article, use the link. If you want to quote something, contact us.

Use of the site

We expect you to use sello. with common sense. It is not permitted to: create fake accounts, manipulate the seal or reaction system, scrape content, or use the platform for any commercial purpose without authorization.

Third-party links

Our articles may include links to external sites (locations, social media of the places, websites). sello. is not responsible for the content or practices of those sites.

Limitation of liability

sello. is an informational guide based on public information. Recommendations reflect an editorial analysis, not a guarantee of experience. We are not responsible for decisions you make based on our content. Always verify directly with the place before going.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as needed. The last update date will be visible above. If we make significant changes, we will communicate them to newsletter subscribers.

Who manages your data

sello. operates from Uruguay. The data controller is sello., based in Punta del Este, Uruguay. For any questions about your personal data, write to hola@sello.uy.

What data we collect

From site users

We only collect the data necessary for the site to function:

If you subscribe to the newsletter: your email address. Nothing else.

If you create an account: email, name (optional), and the interactions you make on the platform (stamped places, saved places).

Browsing data: we use analytics cookies to understand how the site is used (pages visited, reading time, device). This data is anonymous and aggregated.

From businesses included in the guide

The information we publish about places (name, address, hours, type of offering) comes from public sources: business profiles on open platforms, websites and social media of the establishments themselves. We do not collect personal data from business owners or employees. If you are the owner or representative of a place and want us to update or remove your information, write to hola@sello.uy.

How we use your data

• Newsletter email: to send you the best of the week, every Monday. Nothing else.
• Account data: so you can stamp and save places, and to show you personalized content.
• Browsing data: to improve the site and understand what content works best.

We never use your data for third-party advertising. sello. does not sell, rent, or share your personal information with anyone.

Use of artificial intelligence

sello. uses artificial intelligence tools to process public information and assist in writing editorial content. Users' personal data (email, name, interactions) is not sent to AI systems. Only public data about places (published reviews, business profile information) is processed.

Third-party services

We use external services to operate the site:

• Web analytics for usage statistics (anonymous data)
• Email service for newsletter delivery
• Hosting and database for storing content and accounts
• Artificial intelligence APIs for processing public information and content generation

These services process data under their own privacy policies and solely to provide us with the contracted service.

Cookies

We use cookies for:

• Essential cookies: to keep your session active if you have an account. Necessary for the site to function.
• Analytics cookies: to measure site traffic and usage anonymously.

We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. When visiting the site for the first time, you can accept or reject non-essential cookies.

Your rights

In accordance with Uruguay's Personal Data Protection Law 18.331, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
• Delete your data whenever you want (right of erasure)
• Object to the use of your data for a specific purpose
• Unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time (each email has an unsubscribe link)

To exercise any of these rights, write to hola@sello.uy. We will respond within a maximum of 10 business days.

Rights of included businesses

If you are the owner or representative of a business included in sello., you can:

• Request correction of inaccurate data about your establishment
• Request removal of your business from the guide
• Update information such as hours, address, or offering

Write to hola@sello.uy and we'll process it within a maximum of 5 business days.

Security

We implement technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, loss, or alteration. Passwords are stored encrypted and communications are made over secure connections (HTTPS).

Data retention

We keep your data while your account is active or while you are subscribed to the newsletter. If you request account deletion or unsubscribe, we delete your personal data within 30 days. Anonymous analytics data is retained indefinitely.

Minors

sello. is not directed at anyone under 18 years of age and we do not intentionally collect data from minors. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a minor has provided us with personal data, contact us so we can delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as needed. The last update date will be visible above. If we make relevant changes that affect how we use your data, we will notify you by email.
